So I had NO idea today was National Cancer Survivor Day. Seeing that it was made me stop and think about the past week and how insanely fitting it is that today is such a profound day. While the journey continues to have its ups and downs, this past week has been exceptionally wonderful. I have felt God's presence like crazy in so many humbling moments this week that only HIS strength could have gotten me to. I wanted to share a few of them you guys!!

A Major Milestone: Business Card Ceremony
Friday afternoon I was officially accepted as a Student Chiropractic Intern at Cleveland University. My classmates and I received our business cards as a physical object representing our transition from students to student doctors. A lot of hard work has gotten me to this place, but this journey has not been mine alone. Many more names deserve to be next to mine on that card, most notably, my incredibly supportive fiancé and my two loving parents who have helped carry me along the way.
I am overjoyed to announce that I am currently treating patients in the Student Clinic. EARLY FALL 2018 I will be transferring to the Outpatient Clinic where I will have the honor of treating the general public in Overland Park, serving all of the Kansas City Metro area.
If you or anyone you know is interested in care, please contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org!
In closing, I wanted to share a little tidbit from my "Made to Thrive: A Survivors Guide" e-book:
"WE ARE ALL SURVIVORS. That's why this book is titled the survivors guide. I mean look at you, reading this as a LIVING, BREATHING survivor. Here's the first knowledge nugget: If we want to survive our situations we have to wake up to the reality that we are already surviving. We cannot fall into the trap of thinking that dis-ease has us and we have to somehow overcome it in order to gain survivorship. We will instead stand firm in knowing we have the dis-ease and that we are already winning the battle, not because of what test results say or what the people in fancy white coats tell us, but because of how our hearts align and by how we treat our bodies... We are already surviving. Once we make that shift mentally, we regain our unstoppable power and life can be seen through a little less daunting of a lens. So, my friend, you are a survivor. We are survivors (insert destiny's child lyrics)."
